So, two days ago I stumbled upon this article by Artturi Jalli, claiming that there’s no need for keywords if you want to start blogging as a beginner

As someone who is still learning the ropes of SEO and is deeply interested in this field

I couldn’t help but wonder, “WHY?”

After reading Arturri’s article, I concluded that he was right about it,

He emphasized the whole blogging plot in a single quote

It’s all about solving a problem for a target group or niche”. — Bloggersgoto.com

Creating high-quality content that addresses every conceivable problem your target audience has is the only content that can help your website rank at the top of search results (SERPs).

Google wants to filter those websites that show real expertise and human experiences that resonate with the viewers.

After finishing reading, my curiosity became restless and I began my hunt for more data and insights, as I love to research.

Google’s massive SEO update

One of the biggest updates so far was Google’s March 2023 Core Algorithm Update, that launched on March 15th and finally got rolled out on 28th.

The core mission of this update was to encourage and reward high-quality and high volume-driven webpages regardless of their language or region.

Google even admitted that this update might cause some turbulence in the SERPs, also many marketers even reported about their website fluctuations.

Taken from X (previously Twitter)

In my opinion, the ranking fluctuations were surely written to occur as this update was way bigger than the September 2022 update.

And why it shouldn’t be?

It will greatly help to find those websites that truly show real expertise and knowledge.

No wonder it gave a nightmare to black-hat SEO communities and those SEO gurus out there who used to claim that they had cracked the overall SEO code.

Yes, Keywords still matter, buddy

Yes, keywords still remain a integral part of SEO and it shouldn’t be ignored completely as users will actively use them to seek information online.

Gone are the days when it was a common practice to stuff multiple keywords repeatedly to rank the websites.

Those old SEO tactics won’t apply now, and they will be taken down by Google eventually.

Google has evolved, and thanks to AI and Machine Learning, web crawling bots can now understand the structure of natural language more clearly and efficiently.

Decoding synonymous terms is now smoother for search engines,

For example- If you search “best automobiles” you’ll get results both about cars and automobiles, not just websites whose SEO title and description start with the term automobile only.

What’s Google’s wish actually?

In simple terms — It wants its users to be happy.

When somebody searches, they should find exactly what they need,

From years, Google is integrating personalization into its search engine that delivers tailored content to individual users to ensure satisfaction.

Gradually, Google will mostly index trustworthy websites that show real expertise, and knowledge and are catered to solve the problems of the audience irrespective of the field.

It’s slowly shifting its focus from backlinks and keyword density towards user experience.

A last touch

After long research, I concluded that SEO isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon.

Gradually learning and evolving must be the primary mantra for every newbie blogger

Well, it is important to stick yourself with a niche but prioritizing quality over quantity must be an important factor for blogging

Otherwise, people will bounce off your content if it doesn’t provide the answers they seek.

Do you agree that high-quality content is now the new SEO Kingpin?
