Pegging isn’t new for me friendo, it is for Disney — Wade Wilson

Deadpool and Wolverine are all set to release on 26th July this year and I’m so excited about this news that I can talk about it all day long.

The movie will be a part of MCU’s phase 5 as Deadpool stepping into the multiversal saga for the 1st time.

Deadpool is one of my favourite Marvel characters in my list due to his “idgaf” and anti-hero nature.

His recklessness is the main thing that entertains me and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool perfectly nails the character both from inside-out.

I guess most of us have already received the announcement through numerous leaks online that our legendary and nostalgic character Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is finally crossing paths (and also properly this time) with Deadpool, which we always wanted to witness on big screens.

But we should also accept the fact that this would be his last role as Wolverine and it’s sad to witness for the last time.

Due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in the US, the movie’s release date was repeatedly scheduled depending on changing situations.

First, it was decided to release on Nov 8, then Sep 6th, and then again on May 3rd.

Finally, we got to see the release date being officially announced on July 26th, 2024 (as mentioned in the trailer)

Plot

When Wade Wilson (aka, Deadpool) finally decides to live his life simply with his family and friends, suddenly on his birthday, he gets resurrected or kidnapped by an unknown group of soldiers into a place that belongs outside time and reality where he again sets to find a purpose in his life.

Well, the plot of Deadpool 3 is not yet disclosed, I created this plot idea depending on the scenes shown in the trailer and I’ve also tried to make it spoiler-free as much as possible.

In this article, we’re going to dig into some unheard and unpopular facts behind the movie Deadpool and Wolverine that you should know before watching the movie.

And if you’re a Marvel fan like me, I’m sure you’d find it really amusing!

So, let’s get started!

  • Due to the acquisition of 21st Century Fox Studios by Walt Disney (71.3 million), back in 2017, Deadpool and Wolverine is going to be Marvel’s first R-rated movie. Disney CEO, Bob Iger says-

“It [Deadpool] clearly has been and will be Marvel branded. But we think there might be an opportunity for a Marvel-R brand for something like Deadpool. As long as we let the audiences know what’s coming, we think we can manage that fine”. — hollywoodreporter

This bold step by Disney was actually made to position the company as a major global content powerhouse that would significantly help to put an impact on the streaming industry.

  • The events occurring in Deadpool and Wolverine will have no connection with the events of Logan (2017). Here, Logan remains untouched. Many Marvel fans were pretty confused about the fact that — how’s Wolverine alive after being killed in the movie? To this Ryan Reynolds responds to the fans through short video saying-

  • The maturity rating of Deadpool and Wolverine will be bloody “R-rated”, having Deadpool enter the MCU verse for the 1st time. Director Shawn Levy is determined to maintain the adult-oriented tradition of the character’s franchise. The fight scenes shown in the trailer showcase that the film would contain wild, raw, and gory visual effects for sure.

“We are writing, rewriting, developing, prepping ‘Deadpool’ every day now. It is such a blast to laugh every day. It is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it’s very much a ‘Deadpool’ movie. And it has Logan in it. And it has Wolverine in it. It’s too fun. I’m having so much fun, and I haven’t even hit the shooting floor yet. […] I have to say, developing a ‘Deadpool’ movie is one of the most fun creative experiences of my life because it’s not just that it’s rated R. It’s that it’s so filled with self-awareness, and that makes in-writing very, very fun in a way that is unique to that franchise.” — collider

  • According to some sources, Emma Corrin is set to play the role of villain in Deadpool and Wolverine. Corrin is a non-binary and well known for the role as Lady Diana Spencer in the Netflix series “The Crown” (S4). In an interview, Corrin discussed that it’s their 1st ever debut in a Marvel film as an antagonist.

“I feel really excited to play a villain,” says Corrin of their role in the threequel. “I haven’t done that, and it’s an itch I want to scratch.” — empireonline

  • Deadpool and Wolverine are not only going to feature Jackman as Wolverine but are also going tag some of the major characters from the popular Marvel TV series Loki, like the TVA (Time Variance Authority), Agent Mobius (Own Wilson), and Miss Minutes (Voiced by Tara Strong). The events shown occurring in the trailer are all after Loki became the timekeeper.

  • Director Shawn Levy, in an interview by Ew, affectionately shared and discussed how overwhelmed and happy they are upon the return of Jackman as the OG Wolverine, after waiting for 2 long decades and even along with Deadpool on the big screens. Levy further says –

I don’t know if this is our last shot at Wolverine on screen, so I was going to make goddamned sure we get the old yellow and blue just once, and that we get it right,”- ew.com

  • Over the past few months, when the news about the movie reached its audiences, several websites, and social accounts started leaking the official set photos along with the two main leads of the movie. According to Variety, a recent leak has been found that Sabretooth (the X-Men villain) is set to return in the movie. Therefore, reviewing the situation, Reynolds responds -

“Here’s hoping some of the websites and social channels hold back showing images before they’re ready,” Reynolds continued. “The film is built for audience joy — and our highest hope is to preserve as much of that magic as possible for the finished film and the big screen. Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the ‘good problems’ bucket. I love making this movie.” — Variety

  • There are also some rumours that Taylor Swift is going to make an appearance in this movie as the character called “The Dazzler”. Well, honestly, I don’t know anything about this character, but when TheWrap interviewed the director, Levy, he was actually neutral about this rumour totally. He says -

“They sure are loud,”.

“I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.” — TheWrap

  • Deadpool 3 is also going to feature the animal version of Wade Wilson called Dogpool. Just how Loki series introduced its weird alt-reality variant — “Alligator Loki”. Reynolds also shared the image of the dog actor on X (previously Twitter).

The real name of the dog actor is Peggy and surprisingly it also has an Instagram @dogpool.

  • The Deadpool and Wolverine trailer broke the record as the most viewed video on YouTube within 24 hours, crossing 365 million views. Previously Spiderman-No Way Home used to hold that place (with over 355.5 million views in 24 hours) but now it has been successfully dethroned.

Let’s Wrap up
