Why Medium is not made for me
Well today I’m out of content ideas, so I thought why not talk about some my personal experiences
Well, you know, I’m really tired of finding time and writing on medium.
Researching on topics you love and writing in your own way is the work that I prefer the most but on the other hand, I couldn’t help to make myself consistent on this platform.
The problem is my schedule, I will not bore you by telling you about my schedule,
I will just say I’m a student — The end.
Well, not every part has a negative ending.
After thinking and digging into every corner of my brain cell, I came to conclude a strategy about consistency on medium.
Out of 4 common papers this semester, I have data analytics this time and I’m highly interested in learning about this subject,
So, I thought why not also write about it?
I usually write what I used to learn, in a copy and here if I’m able to show the world what are my concepts, what are my expertise, only via writing then it will be a great opportunity for a beginner like me.
Unlikely medium doesn’t pay for Indian writers, but imagine, when it finally comes — I’ll just go Insane 😆😆
So, from now on I’ve decided to write about Data and Analytics topics — AI and Marketing topics will come but what I think,
which is also technically correct that
If I want to stay consistent, I really have to choose a niche which will be beneficial in the long run — Do you guys agree or not? let’s discuss in the comments
Ok let me be clear, all sorts of comments and feedback are welcome as I still consider myself a rookie and your genuine feedback will only show me guidance.
My experience on medium
I’ve been on Medium for more than 6 months, and I have learned so much from this platform rather than any other social media platform out there.
One funny thing that I want to tell you guys is when I was starting to write on medium, I was only focused on making a quick buck here,
But in reality, I was off the mark,
As I navigated through the stories of other writers, I gradually came to know about the true essence of online writing.
Engaging on medium is the best thing, for both readers and writers here, you can comment whether you’re a paying or non-paying member.
Seriously, you all will not believe this, I gained my first 100 followers, through engaging only, that’s by commenting and reacting to other’s stories.
When I started my writing journey here, I was a bit confused about
- What do I write?
- Where do I even begin?
So, I started reading other’s works, and day by day, my knowledge about engaging with others online grew gradually.
The type of comments that I used to make were complex and questionable.
It used to force the author to reply to the query, so if you’re a beginner on this platform, I would suggest that first read and then start writing, because I believe no one could be a good writer until and unless he/she is an avid reader.
Otherwise, here writers are really a helping hand. The other day I simply asked a question to Amulya Kandukuri about if I learned Python, do I require any other programming Language to learn?.
She surprisingly gave me a detailed reply about what should I do.
Btw, thanks again Amulya for such guidance, very few writers like you seriously care about their followers or reader’s engagement 😁👏
And Benjamin A., how could I forget about him ?
As an AI enthusiast, I feel amazed to read his articles and put a comment to show which part I liked the most and sometimes my personal thoughts, he never forgets to reply to his followers’ comments, whether they are generic or wholesome.
One of the other causes for which I follow Benjamin’s work is he is my inspiration for consistency, dude literally throws bangers every day.
How could anybody remain so consistent about writing? Really Benjamin you’re my inspiration for a reason.
Behind the scenes
Okay, enough blathering, let’s end this here, I don’t know why I wrote this article at 1.30 AM at midnight.
Really inspiration strikes out of nowhere. Likewise, you see this picture below
I’ll try to publish my next post on a statistical topic called “kurtosis”, let’s see much time it will take to write that post.
